Michael’s Place offers inclusive child
care services. Our Center offers children with and without
disabilities an opportunity to play and learn together.
Here at Michael’s Place each child's special needs and interests
are addressed. We recognize the abilities of each child as unique
and special, and build on each child’s strengths. We have been
licensed since January of 2000. NMPCR has provided programs for children
and their families since 1995. The Director is a licensed therapist
with 30 years experience working with children and their family.We focus on where the children are developmentally and not just on their chronological ages. In this way, our child development professionals promote growth of children at their own pace by providing opportunities for play and learning geared towards the individual child.
We teach from a
flexible curriculum and include a combination of indoor
and outdoor activities to help each child move from their
current skill level to the next.We serve children between the ages of 4 weeks and 6 years old. We have a child to teacher ratio of 3:1 and are able to provide speech/language, physical and occupational therapy on-site. We accept State subsidies as well as private pay families. We also participate in the CACFP, which provides free or reduced meals to children that meet the eligibility requirements.
We also provide dental, vision and hearing screenings. We can arrange for child and family therapy, and offer parenting classes on an as-needed basis. We participate in the baby Sign 2 Speak program, with all of our teachers receiving training regularly.
