Treatment Foster Care Parent Training
Every Treatment Foster Care Parent must complete 40 hours of training to become licensed, with at least 30 hours completed prior to child being placed.
The training sessions are scheduled four times per year. The training sessions are held on-site at:

introduction to Treatment Foster Care and New Mexico Parent & Child
Resources, Inc.
- Policies and Procedures at New Mexico Parent & Child Resources, Inc.
- Child
and Adolescent Development
- Understanding Psychotropic Medications and Mental Health Diagnosis
- Grief and Loss
- The
role of the Treatment Foster Parent and meeting participation and
paperwork.
- Understanding
the role of culture in Foster Care
- Behavior
Management
- De-Escalation
- Recognition
of the Signs & Symptons of Abuse
